Though many YouTubers have claimed to be motivated and inspired recently, the past few years have also consisted of intense YouTube drama. Whenever I hear about any YouTube drama, I think back to 2012-ish YouTube, which leads me to thinking about when YouTubers made favorites videos– videos where they talked about their favorite things.
I loved watching monthly favorite videos when they were super popular, so I decided to add yet another monthly element to this blog– monthly favorites. Not exactly sure if I’ll have a set schedule or set day for uploading them, but for now, here’s May:
Quinn’s Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel
*It smells so freaking good and feels AMAZING on your skin. I genuinely look forward to applying this to my face every morning.
*I only cried three times (once was because I saw Stan Lee’s name in the ending credits as an executive producer). The ending gave me LIFE; you just gotta stick it out til then.
*I am currently watching it for the first time using Netflix. I’m only on season three, but so far, there have been some unforgettably hilarious moments.
HABIT I’VE BROKEN
Eating Fast Food
*That’s not technically a habit, but it’s something unhealthy I’ve essentially stopped doing. Recently, there was a day where I was away from home the entire day, and all I ate was fast food; I was done with fast food after that. I felt like crap. Now I only like to get drinks from fast food places, like a strawberry banana smoothie from McDonald’s.
“what really went down on the fiji trip” by Kianna Naomi
*All I have to say is you need to watch. Sure, this deals with a brand, but the topic is so freaking relevant. As an African-American woman, I am happy a person with a large following on YouTube used her platform to talk about a societal issue that hasn’t really changed for a lot of minorities, including myself.
Neotheater by AJR
*I’ve listened to this album a solid 200 times and counting. They get more and more amazing with each album.
180 Seconds by Jessica Park
*There’s a book review coming soon. I promise. I’ve been a little behind in this department. Anyway, this book is a perfect romantic summer read. I had the hardest time putting it down, and I’ll probably read it again before I head back to school.
Peach Minute Maid
*I don’t know if it’s weird to include beverages, but this is super freaking good. Honestly, it’s kind of addictive but a good kind of addictive. If you want to try something new to drink, I recommend this.
“I Don’t Care” by Ed Sheeran ft. Justin Bieber
*It’s super cute… that’s all I got.
Platform sandals from Belk
*These shoes are so freaking comfortable and can be dressed up or dressed down. Plus, they add height, which I think is always nice.
I know May is not technically over, but let’s just ignore that. I would absolutely love to know what any of your May favorites are or any new discoveries you’ve made in May (like restaurants to eat at, cities to visit, etc.). This was incredibly fun to write, and I hope you liked it as well; I’m already looking forward to next month.
